FALL 20206 AUTHENTIC MOVEMENT RETREAT
REGISTER NOW FOR THIS FALL’S AUTHENTIC MOVEMENT RETREAT
September 26th and September 27th
10am-5pm both days
@ The Floor on Atlantic (Downtown Brooklyn)
Early Bird: $250 through July 16
Regular: $295 beginning July 17
Registration is now open for my Annual two-day Authentic Movement Retreat in New York City.
Over the course of two full days, we will gather in an intimate group of no more than 16 participants to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with the wisdom of the body through the transformative practice of Authentic Movement. I have been practicing and studying Authentic Movement for the last 8 years and am honored to share a discipline that has profoundly shaped my own life and work.
Together we will move and be witnessed, witness and be moved, creating space for what lives beyond words to emerge, unfold, and be seen.
Through the container of this profound practice, and with the support of my facilitation as an experienced Dance Movement Therapist and Authentic Movement practitioner, we will explore what it means to nourish the bodymind, cultivate inner awareness, witness the self and each other, and restore holistic well-being.
The Discipline of Authentic Movement is a movement practice dedicated to the careful and attentive process of quieting the self so to allow what instinctively, authentically wants to arise in movement, gesture, posture, sound, image, dream...
It is meditation in movement.
It is emptying to discover what happens when we awaken the body’s consciousness.
It is learning to track the body’s language so to deepen, or perhaps begin for the first time, the process of paying attention to what the body is saying.
In what is possibly the most impactful element of this Discipline, all of this takes place while in the presence of a witness.
As you surrender to an embodied stream of consciousness in movement, you will be held by the focused and caring attention of another.
And yes, you will also practice holding another’s movement as a witness.
As you move and are moved, as you witness and are witnessed, you will create space for what lives beyond words to move through you, opening the possibility for insight, discovery, and transformation.
Whether you are a seasoned dancer or someone who has never intentionally moved a limb in your life, this practice is for you.
It is for anyone seeking emotional healing and a deeper connection to themselves in a peaceful, supportive environment.
Join me for a weekend of renewal, presence, and embodied well-being.
