We are alive because we move. We move because we are alive. Movement is the very essence of our existence.

Without it, change is impossible, as the very definition of change is, indeed, the enacting of movement.

Hi! My name is Giulia Carotenuto and I am Dance Movement Therapist with a Master of Arts in DMT from Codarts University (NL), a Somatic Coach, Teacher and Facilitator, and a Performer.
I have committed my entire life to the study of movement, first as a traditionally trained dancer, then as a committed cross-boundary performer, and now as a Dance Movement Therapist and Somatic Coach and Facilitator.
Movement is who we are; within and through our bodies is where and how all of our stories are held and told.
As an Artist, Therapist and Coach, I am committed to the exploration of our stories in movement, and to the innate threads that exist between us as a result of our body stories. I seek to investigate how these stories are held, told, and heard, investing in a horizontal, immersive, direct, authentic, and vulnerable relationships between us all as bodies in movement. I am interested in how dance and movement unlock our deepest selves, can trigger catharsis, and spark kindred connections and perhaps new worlds as a whole within the very moment they happen; in how – with engaged presence, authenticity, and intention - a simple gesture or movement can hold profound meaning, a moment of eye contact can instantly and inextricably change us, and a brief glimpse of the lightest of physical connections, whether that is to ourselves or another, can shake our entire systems.

Our bodies hold many secrets. By attending to our somatic, kinetic, creative and embodied selves, we can learn to discover them, and create wholesome and lasting well-being to our physical, psychological, and emotional worlds.
I hope you will join me in this journey of self-discovery, self-realization, and connection.
